The Perot Museum of Nature and Science, also known as the Perot Museum, is located in Dallas, Texas. It is a natural history and science museum named in honor of Margot and Ross Perot. The Perot Museum is a place where people can take a break from their daily routines to discover the vast mysteries of science. It is a place where families can learn together.
The Museum of Nature & Science was the result of a merger in 2006 between The Science Place, the Dallas Children’s Museum, and the Dallas Museum of Natural History. The Museum combined collections-based natural history with man’s technological and scientific achievements. The Museum presented exhibitions and educational programs for all ages. The five adult children of Margot and Ross Perot contributed a gift of $50 million to the Museum in May of 2008. Due to this generous gift, the fundraising efforts passed $100 million, allowing the museum to break ground at the Victory Park site in 2009. In honor of the Perot family, the Museum was named the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.
